After finding the Acts 1 account of Judas's death, Carter phoned Neville (with Mrs. Goddard on the extension), told him the dream and said 'you're Judas'; Neville affirmed it, expounded the two scriptural traditions of Judas's death, and twice declared that Judas betrayed the messianic secret. [Date evidence: the morning after Carter found the Judas passage in Acts 1; sometime between the death-vision (c. late 1960s) and Neville's death (Oct 1972) — no closer anchor] [Place: telephone call]
- between 1969 and 1 October 1972
I got on the phone and I called him. I got his wife on the phone too, on the extension. I wanted her to hear this. I told him the dream and I said, you're Judas. And he said, yes. Judas betrayed the messianic secrets. He went on to say, God entered this world by committing suicide. ... Neville went on to say, In the Orient, the honorable suicide is to disembowel yourself. ... Before Neville hung up, he said once more, Judas betrayed the messianic secret.
Neville (as quoted): "Yes. Judas betrayed the messianic secrets. ... God entered this world by committing suicide. ... In the Orient, the honorable suicide is to disembowel yourself. ... Judas betrayed the messianic secret."
