Neville sees his wife out of her body above the bed

Neville says his wife has often seen him walking the floor while his body lay on the bed and is no longer disturbed by it; he then recounts waking in the small hours, blaming the family cocker Henry for shaking his wife's bed, finding Henry on the floor scared stiff, and seeing his wife herself out of her body a foot above the bed.

The experience must therefore have occurred before that day, but the passage provides no defensible finer date.
