Jack Butler discovers staged debutante photographs at the New York Times

In New York, Neville's secretary Jack Butler went to the New York Times to place an ad; the woman he had an appointment with had forgotten it, and to smooth things over took him down to the social floor, where a month before Easter the debutantes and their mothers were being photographed in advance for the “spontaneous” post-Easter pictures.
