External: 'Chances' (1931, dir. Allan Dwan, First National/Warner Bros.) had its general release July 18, 1931 (Wikipedia/TCM).

Why Two other witnesses (media:479, media:1189) are cropped duplicates of the same ad/masthead with no additional dating detail.

Reasoning The ad's own text ('OPENING TODAY') places the ad's print date on the day this RKO Proctor's booking opened; since 'Chances' was a new national release, the most likely opening week for a day-and-date or near-day-and-date RKO booking is the week the film was generally released, July 18, 1931. No specific RKO Proctor's city is named on the clipping, so the exact house and exact day within that week cannot be pinned further.
