A man new to his firm imagines the airplane ramp and Swedish voices, and represents the firm in Sweden six months later

A man came to Neville wanting to go to Sweden for his firm but, being new to the job, felt he would not be asked. Neville had him feel himself going up the ramp of an airplane, hear American voices around him, feel airborne, feel the plane come down, and hear only Swedish voices as he was now in Sweden. Six months later the man represented his firm in Sweden. He brought Neville back a crystal teardrop vase in appreciation, which Neville says he still has.

Source 'Recently a man came to me' plus 'Six months later, this gentleman represented his firm in Sweden'
Why The man and the firm are unnamed.
Reasoning Neville calls the approach recent and says the posting followed six months after, and he already has the vase when he speaks. That puts the whole episode inside roughly the two years before a talk given in 1953 or 1954. Bounded and possible: 'recently' is not a date, and the talk's own year is itself bounded across two years.
