Bookseller Mary is killed by a truck

Visiting New York City last summer, Neville went to call on the metaphysical bookstore where he had long bought books from a woman named Mary, only to be told by a friend that Mary had been struck by a car and killed a month earlier; she had never been interested in what his books contained and never gave him a chance to tell her what he had experienced.

Source Love Endures ¶4passage 544921 (lecture nid 1803, 'Love Endures'), adjacent to cited witness 544920, not previously a witness of this event
Why Contradicts existing preferred field_date d1 (1967 circa/certain); left standing per append-only, flagged for the preferred-flag lane.
Reasoning Passage 544921 has Neville tell a friend at a meeting 'I haven't had the time as yet to go and see Mary... She said, Haven't you heard? Mary was killed last month' — a single hedge against nid 1803's certain, twice-corroborated delivery date of 1966-09-23, placing the death circa August 1966. This is closer in time and better corroborated than the existing preferred 1967 claim, which chains two hedges ('two years ago' then 'a month ago') against a probable 1969-02-10 delivery on a different lecture (nid 1800). It also agrees with nid 1032's re-derived delivery bound (after ~1966-08), whose own note already treats nid 1803's September 1966 date as marking the death.

Why Corrects the confidence of the told claim written by run `corpus v1 / phase3b` at delta 1 on this event; that claim is left standing per append-only. Ceiling rule #2132.
Reasoning Confidence only; the date is not re-adjudicated and is left exactly as written. This claim is derived from the delivery claims of node 1800 and asserts `certain`, but the strongest claim that node carries is `probable`, so there is nothing for `certain` to inherit from. nid 1800 delivery claims: 1969-2-20 doubtful; 1969-2-10 probable. Walked back to `probable`, the ceiling. Whether the DATE is right is a separate question this row does not touch; if the evidence turns out to support more confidence, it will have to come from a source other than this node.
  3. after August 1966 estimated · probable
Source nid 1032 surviving delivery claim after refutation. All claims: 1957-??-?? refuted; 1966-8-?? probable (preferred)
Why Lane L7 (#2354) re-derivation. Supersedes in substance, not in storage, the refuted-date told claim(s) on this event; those rows stand per append-only.
Reasoning Re-derived, not walked down. The existing told claim(s) on this event took their date from a delivery claim on node 1032 that the corpus has since REFUTED, so the corpus was asserting that Neville told this on a day it separately says he did not lecture. That is a contradiction rather than an over-confidence, and lowering the confidence would have hidden it instead of resolving it. The refutation stands and the told claim is the wrong side of it. Node 1032 surviving (non-refuted) claim: 1966-8-?? at `probable`. All claims on the node: 1957-??-?? refuted; 1966-8-?? probable (preferred). Superseded here: delta 0: 1957-00-00 at `certain` (run `corpus v1 / phase3b`) | delta 2: 1957-00-00 at `probable` (run `v1.1/l4/ceiling/c2`). The telling is dated by its lecture, so with the refuted date removed from consideration the surviving claim is what the telling inherits, at that claim own confidence and no higher.

Source Love Enduresdelivery claims on lecture nid 1803: 1966-09-23 probable (dating-run-v2, dateline read) and 1966-09-23 certain (v1.1/l2/w2b, independent chrome-dateline structural read)
Reasoning Neville recounts the Mary story in this lecture (passages 544920/544921); the lecture's own delivery date is 1966-09-23, corroborated independently twice. No told claim previously existed for this event from nid 1803, though it carries the fullest telling of the three witnesses. Capped at probable rather than certain per the inheritance-ceiling convention already applied elsewhere on this event (ceiling rule #2132).
