Mikado Claims Many

The Atlanta Municipal Opera asso-

ciation offered’ ‘The Mikado” as the

first production of their first season

of comic opera.

It was.a produc-

tion which, many believe, they have

never excelled.

Last season the as-

i

sociation produced

“The Pirates of

Penzance,’ and a good many others

regard that as their best work.

“Pinafore” is a brief opera, and its

two acts will he preceded by ‘“‘The

Balloon Ballet,”

unitler direction of

Lewis Morton.

Amierique and Ne-

ville,

the always pleasing dancers,

will appear in solo numbers with

twenty members of the opera ballet.

Amerique will appear in a dance ver-

sion of Saint-Saens’

familiar

“Le

Cygne,” and Neville will have a solo

number to music by Schumann.
